Samsung and Pixel repair in Kingston, without leaving your street

Kingston sits about 75 minutes up the 401 from our Brockville base, and we confirm the Kingston appointment before travelling. The technician comes to houses in Portsmouth, Williamsville and Sydenham, to student places around Queen's University, to offices downtown, and out to the west end near the Cataraqui Centre and Rideau Heights. Nothing goes behind a counter, because there is no counter. The repair happens on your kitchen table, at your desk, or in the parking lot where you are standing.

Most of the Android work in Kingston is ordinary and fixable in one visit: a Galaxy A15, A25 or A55 that met the pavement, an S22 or S23 whose battery no longer lasts a full day of lectures, a charging port that has stopped holding the cable. On many Galaxy S models the display is bonded to the frame, so a screen job is a full display assembly rather than glass on its own, and the curved edges on an S Ultra need the frame lined up properly before the adhesive sets. That is a bench job done carefully, not a two minute swap, and it is still finished at your address.

If you want the Kingston page rather than the Android one, see [phone repair in Kingston](/phone-repair-kingston) or the model specific [Samsung screen repair in Kingston](/samsung-screen-repair-kingston). Either way it is the same visit: free diagnosis at the door, a clear quote before anything is opened, a 30 day warranty, and no fee if the phone cannot be fixed.

What an Ottawa Galaxy or Pixel visit actually involves

Ottawa is roughly 90 minutes from Brockville, and we book it the same way, confirming appointment availability across Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean, Orleans, Vanier, Centretown, Westboro, the Glebe, Manotick and the Byward Market area. In a city that size the drive and the parking usually cost more of your day than the repair does, which is the whole reason the technician comes to you instead.

Pixel work has one detail worth knowing before you book. On the Pixel 5 and earlier the fingerprint reader was a pad on the back of the phone. From the Pixel 6 onward, including the 6a, 7, 7a, 8 and 9, it sits under the display, so replacing a Pixel screen means the fingerprint sensor has to be set up and tested again once the new panel is in. We do that with your own finger before we pack up, along with checking the touch response, the front camera and the proximity behaviour on a call. Pixel backs are glass too, so a rear panel crack is a separate part from the screen.

Belleville and the Quinte region: batteries, back glass, and the call that comes first

Belleville is about 100 minutes from Brockville, the longest of the three regular runs, and we cover East Hill, West Hill, Bridge Street East, College Street West, the Quinte Mall area and the Bay of Quinte waterfront, with Trenton and Napanee often fitted into the same trip. We confirm parts and appointment availability before travelling.

The most common Quinte booking on an Android phone is a battery. On a Galaxy or a Pixel the battery sits under a glued glass back panel, which has to be warmed and cut free before anything else happens, and it is held down by adhesive strips of its own. If the back glass is already cracked, or the phone has taken a hard drop, that panel often will not survive removal, so we quote the back glass and the battery together rather than surprising you halfway through. A back panel that has started to lift, or a screen sitting slightly proud of the frame, usually means the cell has swollen and the phone should be taken off charge until it is looked at.

Because Belleville is a 100 minute drive rather than a ten minute one, we confirm the exact model and the fault by phone or WhatsApp before setting off, so the right screen or battery is already in the van. The diagnosis at your door is still free and the quote still comes before any work. See [phone repair in Belleville](/phone-repair-belleville) for the local page.

Why "moisture detected" is one of our most common Samsung calls

A Galaxy showing moisture detected is not looking at water. It is measuring electrical leakage across the pins inside the USB-C port and cutting off wired charging so the contacts do not corrode. That is why the warning appears on ports that look completely dry: humidity, sweat, a damp cable end, condensation or packed pocket lint all read the same way to the phone.

In this part of Ontario it comes in waves. A phone carried in from a Kingston winter into a warm house will fog inside the port the same way a pair of glasses fogs. Summer brings the Bay of Quinte and the Thousand Islands versions, where the phone was near the water rather than in it. In every case, wireless charging still works normally and is the safe way to keep the phone alive while the port dries with the phone left alone, port facing down, no hair dryer and no rice. Do not use an app or a workaround to force wired charging, because pushing voltage across a damp port is exactly what turns a warning into corroded pins. The full explanation, including how to read the liquid damage indicator in the SIM tray, is in our guide on [Samsung moisture detected in the charging port](/blog/samsung-moisture-detected-charging-port).

When the warning outlasts the drying, it is usually lint compressed against the contacts or oxidation on the pins. On most Galaxy and Pixel models the USB-C port sits on its own small board rather than being soldered to the mainboard, so it can be cleaned or replaced at your table in Kingston, Ottawa or Belleville without board level work. If liquid actually got inside, that is a different job and speed matters: see [charging port repair](/charging-port-repair-eastern-ontario) and [water damage repair](/water-damage-phone-repair-eastern-ontario).

Motorola, LG and the other Android phones we still see

Samsung and Google are the bulk of it, but Eastern Ontario households hang on to phones. Motorola G and Edge handsets, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia and HMD, older Galaxy Note bodies and a steady trickle of LG phones all still turn up. LG left the phone business in 2021, so every LG in daily use is long past support: screens and batteries can often still be sourced, but the part has to be confirmed before a run out to Ottawa or Belleville rather than assumed to be on the shelf. Tell us the model when you call and you will get a straight answer about whether it is worth doing.

One thing to be clear about. Mobile Fix Near Me is an independent repair service run by Shahroz Mirza, with more than ten years of hands on experience. We are not affiliated with Samsung, Google, Motorola or any other manufacturer, and we are not a manufacturer service centre. We repair phones, tablets, laptops, watches and consoles at your address, and nothing else: no televisions, no appliances, and no location for you to drive to. For tablets, see our Android tablet repair service.

My Samsung says moisture detected and will not charge. What should I do?

Stop using the cable and charge wirelessly while the port dries, phone left alone with the port facing down, no heat and no rice. The message means the phone measured leakage across the USB-C pins. If it continues once the phone is dry, lint or corrosion is likely and the port may need replacing.

Do you replace Galaxy batteries and back glass in Belleville?

Yes. Belleville is roughly 100 minutes from Brockville and we cover the Quinte region, including Trenton and Napanee, on the same run. A Galaxy battery sits under a glued glass back, so the panel must come off first. If that glass is already cracked we quote the panel and the battery together.

How long does an Android screen repair take at my door?

Screen type, damage and parts determine the repair time. We explain the proposed work and any model-specific testing before you approve the quote. Same-day appointments are subject to availability.
